Le roi s'y est rendu lui-même.
"T'as rapporté ça?
-- J'ai rapporté ça, Sire.
-- Eh, bien, si c'est comme ça, maintenant, toi -- bon, si tu ne rapporte pas ceci [ce que je vais te demander maintenant], tu ne vivras pas -- qu'il lui dit --

La mère arrive.

Le petit lui donne le lait.

-- Alors maintenant je te --
bon, maintenant, une vaste plaine -- sur la plaine, construis un palais comme mon palais!

Et l'ayant construit, tresse une corde de cendres, une corde à trois brins, et entoure-le avec!"

Le lendemain, à la première lumière, quand il a regardé, à l'endroit où le roi avait dit de la faire, juste là, elle était, très haute, entourée d'une corde blanche à trois brins tressée avec des cendres.
Elle s'élevait très haut.

Alors encore, bon! Ce jour-là il y avait à manger dans la cuisine de son épouse précédente.

Lorsqu'il a eu bien mangé, il est allé dans sa chambre.

He sent them saying, "Go see if he has brought the treasure or not," and it turned out that he had.
The king himself went.
"Did you bring it?"
"I brought it, majesty."
"Well, if so, now -- OK! -- If you don't bring this, once again, you will not live!"
He wouldn't live.
[After receiving new orders, the merchant thinks:] "Now I've been sent to bring back tiger's milk ["squeezed-thing of a night-roarer"].
How shall I bring it?" he thought.

When he got there, the tiger's liar was a cave.

Oh! In the place he had said, there was light, and it was there, encircled by the triple cord.

Then again, "OK, now bring birds from where the sun sets, birds which exist nowhere else, bring them and put them in the bamboo forest, so many that the leaves are no longer visible!

So again, well, that day again there was food for him in his first wife's kitchen.
"Come eat!" -- he didn't come.
"Why don't you come? Come!
And don't be afraid!" said his wife.
He came and ate.
He ate and went to his room.
His wife gave him his pipe. He smoked.

Wherever you planted the bamboo before, place this feather on the branches ["things that go this way and that"].
