Transportation
The island of Porquerolles is south of Hyères and not far from Toulon.
You may want to have a look at a general map:
On the map below, the village in the NW corner is Hyères, the island in the middle is Porquerolles, the other one on the right is Port Cros.
 You may reach the island by yourself (preferably Sept. the 28th, evening) or join the coach which will wait for you near Toulon railway station, Sept. 28th, about 17h00 ; the coach will take us to La Tour Fondue, the place where we take the boat to Porquerolles.
You may arrive:

by plane to the Toulon/Hyères airport, see http://www.airfrance.fr ; the only way to reach La Tour Fondue from the airport is taxi.

by train to Toulon railway station, see www.sncf.com ; you can also reach Hyères railway station, if you want to arrive closer to La Tour Fondue.
If you want to arrange the complete trip by yourself, boat included, you will have to reach either:
 Your trips to Toulon will be refunded by ESF: please keep all plane or train tickets with you.
Accomodation and meals will be taken care of by the workshop, from Sept. 28th dinner to Oct. 1st lunch. They will take place in the IGESA center, within walking distance to Porquerolles harbour.
You may want to visit the IGESA website: Porquerolles island is under "Îles d'Hyères", the southernmost localisation.
If you intend to come with husband/wife or children, or to extend you stay in the island, please : (1) contact IGESA to make sure it is still possible (there are also a few hotels in Porquerolles, but they are usually booked rather early). (2) When you are sure it is possible, please let me know.
