"A typological and historical study of Zlarong, a Tibeto-Burman language in south-western China", Paris 3, co-dir. Alexis Michaud and Guillaume Jacques (CRLAO)

Research topic

My PhD project will be a study of the typology (phonology, morphology, etc.) and history (especially the determination of the genetic position) of Zlarong (aka Smar Skad), a newly discovered Tibeto-Burman language spoken in Tibet Autonomous Region, China. It is a further work based on my MA thesis in which a provisional study has been presented. My PhD thesis is expected to comprise a description on important typological features of Zlarong, a detailed discussion on its genetic position and a comparison between Zlarong and related languages, along with a series of glossed texts and a dictionary
